CHIA, Colombia----On a recent visit, the RioFrio flower farm in this town outside Bogotá was a hive of activity.
"The funny thing is I made sure it was full. I’m going to put my clothes on,’ she added. ‘It seems to have got colder."

There, they were then passed by conveyor belt to other employees on an indoor, modern assembly line who gently washed, cut, packaged and quickly refrigerated them for export by air to the U.S.

The hubbub isn't driven by a sudden spike in romance among Americans but by cold hard cash: The Colombian peso has fallen sharply against the dollar, making RioFrio flowers cheaper for foreign buyers.
